On Tuesday, October 22, the Federalist Society at Catholic Law hosted a discussion titled “Chevron Overturned: Administrative Law after Loper Bright.” The event, moderated by Catholic Law Professor Chad Squitieri, featured speakers Roman Martinez and Professor Jennifer Mascott.

Roman Martinez, a partner at Latham & Watkins and an experienced Supreme Court litigator, recently achieved a landmark victory in Relentless Inc. v. Department of Commerce, the companion case to Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, where the Court overruled the Chevron deference doctrine. Jennifer Mascott serves as the Director of the Separation of Powers Institute here at Catholic Law, as well as an Associate Professor of Law, and an Affiliated Fellow of the Center for the Constitution and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition.

During the discussion, Martinez and Mascott explored the implications of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Loper Bright v. Raimondo. They analyzed the effects of overturning the Chevron doctrine and its impact on administrative law.
